Foundational and Hydric Soils Training is designed for early- to mid-career environmental professionals with limited soil science experience, as well as those seeking a comprehensive refresher. This course covers the fundamentals of soil formation, techniques for accurate soil description, and best practices for interpreting and applying soil survey data. Participants will also explore the formation and characteristics of hydric soils and gain hands-on experience applying the Field Indicators of Hydric Soils in the United States for proper identification in the field.
