Greg has decades of experience teaching government regulators and private sector environmental scientists how to make soil descriptions, identify hydric soil indicators, and delineate wetlands.  He's also provided educational instruction and research consultation to a variety of colleges and universities in the mid-Atlantic region. Additionally, Greg has provided speaking engagements and seminars to farming communities across Virginia to help them to better understand federal wetland compliance regulations.

With over 30 years of experience as a soil scientist for the USDA, Greg has made countless soil investigations to describe the characteristics of the soil, classify the soil according to taxonomy, plot the boundaries of the soil on maps, identify properties and make predictions about the suitability and limitations of the soil for specific uses.  He's also completed thousands of certified wetland determinations for Food Security Act purposes and is recognized as a regional hydric soil indicator expert.
